Films At The Yard: Cocktail
Cocktail at The Yard Theatre
Start your weekend early! The same people who brought us The Rooftop Cinema Club are now hosting a series of film sessions at The Yard Theatre. Tonight’s showing is classic Tom Cruise film, Cocktail. Don’t pretend like you’ve never attempted to recreate his moves. The 110 seater space has a bar and cafe & performance space. Book tickets here.

All New People
All New People
If you were ever a fan of Zach Braff’s antics in popular US comedy Scrubs, you can now see the erstwhile comic actor turn screenwriter and star of new play “All New People”. Good reviews from the off-Broadway crowd and a interesting cast of characters, why not go and get some theatre action?
Duke of York’s Theatre, St Martin’s Lane, WC2N 4BG. Ticket from £39.50

supperclub Presents Grant Nelson & Soul Purpose DJs
supperclub Notting Hill
Each Friday supperclub hosts evenings that promise great food, amazing music, brilliant performances and the best party for miles around. “A feast for all the senses”, it’s a unique experience and if you’re looking for a traditional restaurant, you would be heading to the wrong place. Freedom reigns here.

Breakfast At The Wolseley
Breakfast at the Wolseley
An amazing way to start your Saturday morning. With the weather looking up, take a walk down Piccadilly and enjoy a Bloody Mary in one of London’s most sought after breakfast spots. Their salmon & scrambled eggs is sublime and the home-made Viennoiserie will make you question the way you have breakfast each morning. Served from 8.30 a.m until 11.30 a.m, booking is advised.
The Wolseley, 160 Piccadilly, W1J 9EB

David Shrigley: Brain Activity
David Shrigley Brain Activity
Who said art can’t have a sense of humour? David Shrigley’s ‘Brain Activity’ is full of his praised situational humour and his ridiculous treatment of failure. Showing at the Hayward Gallery until May 10th, it’s already received heaps of admiration and it would be an ideal way to spend a weekend afternoon.

We’re Ready For The Weekend!

Friday, September 2nd, 2011

It’s here, it’s here! After only four short days, the weekend has arrived again. What are your plans? Post work cocktails? Tapas with friends? Or that much needed takeaway and night in after that hard week? Here’s some of our suggestions of the best things to get involved in.

We love the weekendFor the culture vultures:

The Portobello Film Festival is the UK’s biggest independent film competition so you can be sure to enjoy some of the best independent films the Brits have to offer (and we do tend to be very good at them). There’s also a good range of European films…take a date and show off your film buff side. (1-18 September; 6:30-10:30pm; free; Pop-Up Cinema, 3 Acklam Road , W10 5T or Westbourne Studios, 242 Acklam Road, W10).

For the little ol’ wine drinker in you:

Gordon’s Wine Bar near Charing Cross is a favourite with the Central London crowd and for good reason too! A huge outdoor heated terrace for al fresco drinking and a low lit crypt-like interior, you’ll find this the best atmosphere in which to treat yourself to a bottle of their special wines. Fail-safe dating ground. (47 Villiers Street; WC2; 11am-11pm)

For the Club Bunnies:

Mahiki have had a busy week – entertaining for Esquire’s Best Dressed Man Awards on Wednesday and hosting the afterparty for luxury men’s mag L’altro Uomo’s celebration of their latest bi-annual issue. All about the fashion it would seem and there’s no reason why the party will stop this weekend. It’s a Click member favourite so why not swing by? (1 Dover Street; Mayfair; W1S)

For Date Night:

We are trying out something new and think it’s the perfect idea for your date night this weekend. Be one of the first to trial our latest feature, Click Together, the ideal opportunity to organise your date online. Go be active and enjoy a drink or two at a cocktail masterclass at The Covent Garden Cocktail Club. We’ve found you a great deal that’s not going to break the bank and this date will promise the all important fun factor. (6-7 Great Newport Street; WC2H)

Happy weekend all!

Get Inspired, The Weekend Is Here!

Friday, March 25th, 2011

Although we have one every week, the weekend feels like a rare and special relief from the daily pressures of life. All things grind to halt and rather than worry about the usual clutter, we seek merriment, enjoyment and the odd hedonistic adventure. The weekend is not a thing to be wasted. FYI lying in bed and lazing around is not considered a waste of time, but there are certainly better ways to spend those precious days and nights.

Help Japan with Nobu
Hit Nobu on Berkeley Square tonight and help contribute towards the Japan effort. Hang with the cool urbanite crowd,  sip Japanese mojitos and dine on the special Omakase menu created by the founders who promise to donate a percentage of sales to a relief organisation. If you’re not in London, there are 23 other participating Nobu’s.

Where: 5 Berkeley St London W1J 8DY

Oxford Vs. Cambridge
If you’re not heading to the Thames to watch the famous boat race between Oxford and Cambridge…Spitalfields City Farm is holding its annual Oxford vs Cambridge Goat Race tomorrow at 1 pm. You will miss out on the muscles, but on the whole I think the goats are a much better option.

Where: Spitafields City Farm, Goldsmiths Row, London E2 8QA

The Breakfast Club for Brunch
Definitely one of my favourite places for brunch on a Sunday. Go healthy with carrot juice, smoothies and fresh fruit salads or do I what do and have Huevos Rancheros and a pitcher of Bloody Mary mix instead. The pancakes and French toast are also not to be missed.

The Breakfast Club

Where: Hoxton – 2-4 Rufus Street N1 6PE, Angel – 31 Camden Passage N1 8EA

It´s Friday! Where Are You Going This Weekend?

Friday, August 20th, 2010

There is something about Summer that seems to make all the days and weeks roll into one. You are nursing Saturday´s hangover  Sunday morning and then before you know it, the weekend rocks up again! So, what are you doing this weekend? If you´re lost for ideas, here´s some fun stuff to do – get your gladrags on, you´re going out!The Wild Nothing

Live music? Head to The Luminaire on Kilburn tonight to see the Wild Nothing. Jack Tatum & co. are playing cool Summer tunes from 8 p.m. Afterwards, get to Platinum as the famous Red Light parties relocate from their graceland, The Aquarium. Anything goes at these oh so rebellious parties and tonight DJ Nasty McQuaid will be joined by Joe Le Groove and Scott Webster. It´s going to be lively at Leicester Square as Sound present Urban Chic. Expect R&B and hip hop where the Kiss Fm DJ´s play at their resident spots.

If you´re looking for something a little more unusual, why not try out the latest clubbing trend – Silent Disco. Originally starting as efforts towards noise reduction, London Zoo (Outer Circle, Primrose Hill) welcomes partygoers to bop around with their headphones whilst under the spectatorship of the lions, tigers and monkeys. Go crazy you animals!Into the Woods

On Saturday afternoon, grab some beers and good company and make your way down to Regents Park for “Into the Woods” – the dark fairytales from The Brothers Grimm are revived in the open air theatre. You´ve never seen Cinderella like this before…

Join Junior Simpson, Mary Bourke and Windsor at the Banana Cabaret at The Bedford from 9 pm onwards, for what´s arguably one of the best comedy nights in London.  East VillageIf you´re in the mood for some nostalgic house music, the two very trendy nights, held at East Village join forces to present “Vintage House Foundation Meets Village Disco”. Expect a lively crowd! Hot Date? Show your beau the sights of the city from the dizzying heights of the London Eye on the Champagne Flight. Mmm Laurent Perrier… Alternatively, why not kick things into gear at Cargo as Black Rabbit continues their residency with James Priestly.

If you´ve energy enough on Sunday, it´s all about lunch. Gordon Ramsey´s Gastropub, The Devonshire in Chiswick will spoil you with all things traditional English. Homemade food, including their famous burgers, can be found at Camden Bar and Kitchen . This trendy hotspot, formerly known as Ruby in the Dust, is the perfect place to pass a lazy Sunday afternoon.

There you have it, our recommendations for this weekend. Enjoy, have fun and we´ll see you on Monday!
