Hayden leaves X Factor Studios

When the entire human race is not depending upon her for survival, Hayden Panettiere (the cheerleader from Heroes) has been spotted out and about in our fair capital. Leaving the fate of the world in the hands of others, the young actress flew to London last Friday to spend the weekend doing, well what the rest of us were doing it seems. Partying and watching X Factor.

In London to attend the Alpha and Omega premiere with some wolf cubs, Panettiere spent the weekend on the London scene. She was front row Saturday night at Fountain Studios where she was joined by fellow yank celebs, ex Pussycat Doll Kimberley Wyatt and Usher, who performed a mash-up of hit (and slightly annoying) singles OMG and DJ Got Us Falling In Love.

With boxer boyfriend at Boujis

The first of the many live shows to come, I’m hoping Miss Panettiere was not as bored as the rest of us with what was a very lacklustre and ridculously long beginning to Britain’s biggest reality circus.

Photographed leaving the X Factor studios in Wembley, North London, it was time for Hayden to throw on her glad rags for a night in South Kensington hotspot, Boujis.

She partied until the small hours with boyfriend and Ukrainian heavyweight boxer, Wladimir Klitschko before returning to their hotel. Some might say its a bizarre love match for the petite actress (he is 6′6 and 13 years her senior), but then again a boxer and a superhero doesn’t seem all that bizarre. Probably about as strange as a footballer and a lapdancer!

Where Was Everyone This Morning at London Fashion Week?

Monday, September 20th, 2010

Bjork at Alexander McQueen's memorial serviceIn between the shows and the afterparties, the fashion industry’s finest gathered this morning to honour designer, the late Alexander McQueen at St Paul’s Cathedral.

Six months after the designer’s death, Anna Wintour (Vogue editor in chief), Sarah Jessica Parker, Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, Stella McCartney attended the memorial service.

Bjork, bizarre as ever, was dressed as an angel and performed at the service which was a sombre hiatus in what’s been a whirlwind of madness since London Fashion Week kicked off last Friday. The outlandish Icelandic singer sang Gloomy Sunday and was joined by the London Community Gospel Choir.

Anna Wintour was among those who addressed the crowd and she mused about an occasion when a young McQueen missed a photoshoot and then later declared that he didn’t “give a flying f**k about Vogue”, while he was still collecting dole payments! Never one to do things by the book, McQueen’s love of theatricality, macabre and all things over the top, was done justice by today’s appropriately dramatic memorial.

One Of Our Favourite Temples: Funky Buddha, Mayfair

Wednesday, September 15th, 2010

The Funky Buddha in oh so swanky Mayfair is one of London’s hottest clubs. Averting the expected Eastern kitsch, the club’s zen vibe is subtle, sophisticated and after a half a million pound refurb, it’s looking pretty good…
Click Tonight at Funky Buddha, London

A host of celebrity faces often come to worship their night’s out at Funky Buddha – the relaunch was hosted by Timbaland and Ja Rule and Tinie Tempah has also made appearances. We’re certainly no strangers to the Funky Buddha opulent nightlife experience either! It’s one of our favourite party places and come tomorrow evening, we will be hosting our Viva Las Vegas party in the Berkeley Square hotspot.

The last couple of parties (Early Summer Fun, Black & White Party) were so much fun, we just couldn’t hold out any longer. Our Vegas themed party will feature all the usual tricks and tomfoolery with a city of sin twist. Make sure you come and play as this is one night you don’t want to miss! You have until tomorrow to perfect your poker face…

Faking Reality: Audrina Leaves The Hills for London

Thursday, July 29th, 2010

Audrina Patridge from MTV “reality” series The Hills is in town! After throwing a pool party (yes, in London) at the Haymarket hotel, she stumbled out of Mahiki at 2.30 this morning thus ending celebrations of the season finale which aired in the US two weeks ago.

Audrina PatridgeIf you’ve ever glanced guiltily at the antics of Lauren Conrad et al, you will have questioned the real/fake line that the show draws. It always seems so cultivated, whether it be plot lines, the perfect camera angle or Heidi’s hair and fans have dedicated hours to rigorous debate. MTV’s pop culture show has seemingly achieved the ability to bend reality…

They are now apparently revelling in our confusion and laughing at us. The season finale concluded with lots of the expected long drawn out shots of Audrina looking wistfully out to the ocean, Lo and Scott canoodling in the kitchen and Brody saying his goodbyes to a tearful Kristen (during which we had a series of season flashbacks to inject some sentimentality).

Just when we were expecting a fade out (cue credits), the car transporting Kristen stopped and the scenery of the Hollywood sign and Hills behind Brody came apart and the ever elusive crew appeared as they started to deconstruct the set! The set?! I think the producers must have fallen to floor with laughter when they imagined us staring at our screens in utter bewilderment.
